A Friend in Me / Befriending Ourselves
How we treat ourselves can have a huge impact in many areas of our lives. Self criticism, isolation and judgement for ourselves can easily cross the line to unhealthy levels without us even knowing and we end up thinking and behaving in ways that are unhelpful and damaging to our own physical, mental and emotional health. The practice of Mindfulness and Self-Compassion teaches people practices and exercises to be aware of their experiences and tendencies and to learn to relate to themselves with compassion and kindness, just like how a good friend will relate to us.
